The Story Behind the Whale Shark Automaton

The inspiration for this piece began several years ago during a trip to Western Australia, where I had the opportunity to encounter whale sharks in their natural habitat.

Known for the annual whale shark aggregation at Ningaloo Reef, Western Australia is one of the world's most remarkable places to witness these gentle giants. Watching them move slowly and gracefully through the water was a moment I never forgot. That peaceful feeling ultimately inspired the creation of this automaton.
